Visitor Information

Welcome Visitors!

wando_harmony_sposnors_revenal

Thank you for visiting our site.  We hope that you are able to find the information you need, whether it’s information about upcoming performances, information about our staff, or maybe photos of rehearsals and performances.

Performances

During the fall semester, the band performs at home football games, one or more marching band competitions/festivals, a fall concert, and the Mt. Pleasant Christmas parade. During the spring semester, band members participate in various region and state events; small ensembles give a chamber music concert; the percussion section, jazz band, and fine arts department put on a concert; and the full bands have a spring concert. For dates and times, see the Events page.

Directions

If you’d like to attend a performance, you can use the Directions page to find us. Marching Band performances take place at Wando Stadium, at the intersection of Mathis Ferry Road and Whipple Road; marching band rehearsals (which are open to the public) usually take place at the practice field at Wando High School, 1000 Warrior Way. Concert Band performances take place in the Wando High School Performing Arts Center (PAC).

Lowcountry Invitational Marching Band Festival

One special event we sponsor each year is a marching band festival is early October. More information is available on the LCI page.

Photos and Videos

We maintain a Bands of Wando group page on Facebook. This page includes photos and videos from rehearsals and performances throughout the year. You are welcome to “like us” on Facebook and follow the band throughout the year. If you’re not a Facebook member, use the links on our Photo Gallery page for direct access to selected photo galleries.

Staff

A great music education program requires a great staff, great students, great parents, and great support from the school. We can’t post information about everybody, but we do have information about our staff.

Band Boosters

Another key support element is our Booster Association (which is made up of the “great parents” mentioned above). Our bylaws are available at this link, and you are welcome to contact the current booster president by emailing president@wandobands.org.
